Stay at the Winthrop
Nestled near the Methow River in the Methow Valley, the Winthrop Inn is a lovely lodging option for those visiting the Old West town of Winthrop. Tucked in the foothills of the Scenic North Cascades Highway, our riverfront property is the perfect fit for outdoor enthusiasts, vacationers, families, and everyone in between.
The Methow Valley is a 60-mile long channel that extends from Mazama to Pateros, as it follows the Methow River on a journey towards the Columbia. Winthrop, WA is situated in the northern portion of the Valley, in between the towns of Twisp and Mazama.
The Inn is located just outside of downtown Winthrop, adjacent to the local hardware store and grocery store. The entrance to the Inn is tucked away from the highway, and there is a large parking lot for your convenience.
Wake up every morning to the soothing sound of the river in the distance, and the sweet aromas coming from our Coffee Bar. Our Coffee bar is stocked with coffee we roast ourselves and completed with homemade scones.
We also have a volleyball court on site, which is located on the opposite corner of the shop/Wax Room. Our fully functional Wax Room is complete with a workbench and ski mount, to keep you warm as you prepare for the trails. With over 300 miles of cross-country ski trails in the Methow Valley, we found it important to advocate for the large number of cross-country skiers and backcountry adventurers that stay at the inn.
If you’re a guest of the hotel, and interested in enjoying one of the many outdoor trails, make sure your equipment is fit for the conditions! We also sell Methow Trails cross country ski trail passes, snowshoe passes, dog trail passes, and fat bike trail passes right at the Front Desk.
Just off of the wax room is our seasonally Pool and year round Hot Tub. Enjoy a soak beneath the stars, after a day on the trails.
The Methow Valley has some of the darkest skies in all of Washington State, meaning stargazing and astrophotography opportunities are uniquely excellent here. In 2014 the local Electric Cooperative converted to Dark Sky Street lighting fixtures, which heightened the outstanding dark sky conditions even more so than they were before.
We also have 4 picnic tables completed with 3 bbq’s that are available for our guests, and two additional picnic tables parked along the river. We encourage our guests to make themselves feel at home and explore the property and equipment.
